What is PingMeAlive?
A private dead man’s switch. You check in on a schedule you choose. If you go silent, the people you named get an unlock link for the message you sealed on your phone.
Can PingMeAlive read my message?
No. You encrypt it on your device with a passphrase we never store. Your account holds ciphertext. Unlock happens in the recipient’s browser, with the passphrase you already shared with them.
What if I just forget to check in?
We nudge you first, then send a final reminder. Recipients are only notified after that sequence — not after a single missed ping.
Who receives the unlock link?
Only the recipients you choose. They still need the passphrase you shared with them. Without it, the ciphertext stays closed.
Do recipients need the app?
No. Unlock is designed to happen in the browser from the notice they receive, using the passphrase you already gave them.
